Sigur Rós - Ágætis byrjun (CD 16 44.1) Swans - Soundtracks For the Blind (CD 16 44.1. Thats not to mention if the original recording was not 32bit upscaling from 24bit will degrade sound quality. As the vast majority of people doesn't use vinyl other sources are of much more relevance to most users. 24bit flac encompasses all the dynamic range humans can hear and then some so 32bit is literally just wasting space. I will still allow this kind of source because there is no other way to handle vinyl but there will be some kind of notice. Often they just use the same digital master that CDs, downloads and streams share but seem more dynamic because of the analog ripping process. They have the characteristics of a lossy source and each rip is different because it depends on the recording equipment. And the only means to get those albums is to legally buy or stream them. The database is there to represent the official album market. They don't serve any real purpose because they're not generally available to the public, which is also why there have been provided links to private downloads in the past. There will also be new rules regarding self-made "remasters" or downmixes of albums. gtis Byrjun was, in many ways, the artistic beginning Sigur Rs should have. User accounts have to be created with a valid e-mail address via double opt-in. Sigur Ros is one of Icelands most iconic bands, having redefined the. Therefore there will be a user account system with different roles and a backend to log in to for moderators where they can review change requests. The planned changes: All actions will be held in a moderation queue and selected members (moderators) have to confirm any changes before they are visible to the public. But you can continue scanning albums, just keep the logs on your hard drive for the time being.
SIGUR ROS AGAETIS BYRJUN DYNAMIC RANGE UPDATE
This update will take some time as it basically means rewriting everything from scratch with a new framework and adding a lot of new functionality. After setting the database to read-only and hiding comments due to the DMCA notice as a first step to prevent further harm I have now decided to continue working on the project and re-enabling create, edit and delete functionality again in the future. If you can afford it, get a 7LP box from Artists In Residence. Even with considerable compression, I would prefer the CD's to any of these DMM's. if it follows the same kind of treatment they gave to the other two DMM's. It sounds just like what I would expect from a poorly mastered "lowres-digital-to-vinyl". I would NEVER think that the original "Takk." LP was analog sourced and processed all the way. maybe a little better (those DMM's are really bad), but still completely put to shame by the amazing open and dynamic sounding "Takk." from the big box. it sounded much like the 2008 DMM's to me. For some strange reason it seems to have good reputation for great sound quality and for being analog "all the way". I've never heard "()" and "agaetis byrjun" original issues.Īs for "Takk." I've heard the original issue. flat and cold, no dynamics, I even think there is some noise reduction going on there killing all the transients. The DMM's sound like the worst examples of "lowres-digital-to-vinyl" gone wrong.

The difference is really big, the box versions have so much more detail and dynamic range, it's quite a dramatic difference, they sound open and "in the room" making for a really special experience when you listen to them. "()" and "agaetis byrjun" on DMM reissues sound dull, closed in, lifeless, when compared to the versions from the In a Frozen Sea 7LP box.
